Final Vows of Sr. Cathy Mary Print
Tuesday, 21 December 2010

"For love of Jesus Christ and in answer to his call, I desire to give myself to him, freely and forever, and to devote my whole life to the extension of his kingdom."

On Saturday 18th December Sr. Cathy Mary made her final vows in the Maria Assumpta Chapel. It was an extremely beautiful and moving occasion, and we were delighted that despite the heavy snow many of her family and friends were able to join us and to share in our joy.

For those of you who were unable to be with us on the day itself, we have recorded both the inspiring homily by Fr. Matt Blake OCD, and central parts of the 'Rite of Profession', including the litany of saints, profession of vows, solemn blessing and receiving of the profession ring.

We were delighted with the photos taken by Br. Duy AA and by Alex, both extremely talented photographers who have captured something of the beauty of the occasion. Click to see the photos:

Fr. Stephen Wang has written about the mass on his blog; his reflections on Fr. Matt's homily are particularly thought provoking.

Fr. Dominic White OP prevented the snow hindering the beauty of the liturgy by doubling as both organist & cantor, with impressive skill and versatility
